I am a Canadian girl, who in 1975 visited my Aunt and Uncle for 10 months, while they were stationed in Germany with the Army. They are from San Diego, California. During my visit, I attended K-town High School and to develop many special friendships.
Over the years, I managed to keep in touch with some friends and lost contact with others. This website has not only reconnected me with friends from my past and blessed me with new ones, but it has also given me the oppurtunity and pleasure of attending the class reunion in Maryland in 2002. It has reconnected me with one person who has become my soul mate and who is now my husband ~ Don Beard. Don is from the Class of '76. We were "just buddies" in high school, never even shared a kiss, and both took a Play Productions class. That year, Don was brave enough to escort two girls without dates to the Homecoming Dance. I was lucky to be one of them. The day after the dance I returned to Canada.
As the years passed, I often thought about Don and wondered what happened to him. One day I stumbled upon this wonderful website. E-mails to each other began, along with picture exchanges of family and children, and also the phone calls. Again time passed and both of our lives had changed. We were now leading single lives and the time was now ours! I took a big risk and a plane ride of 3350 miles to meet Don again. When our eyes met for the first time in almost 29 years, it was like magic! Our long distance relationship began. On November 27, 2004, in Dana Point, California we were married.
